  1. I’d love some advice from you. I’m 58 and I an oil painter and make jewelry. I have tried selling on Etsy, GoImagine and Shopify for years. I’ve spent so much money and made almost nothing. I have so many supplies and love making but hate listing. Maybe I’d be more excited about listing if I could get sales. On top of everything else, I got laid off 6 months ago, so making money now is more important than ever. I’m not getting any interviews or interest from jobs, I believe because of my age. When I post on social media, I don’t get any interest there. My friends and family won’t even share my shops, posts etc much less buy. At this point I feel like I should just sell all the jewelry and supplies I have and stick with oil painting. If anyone has advice I’d be very grateful.

  2. I was thinking about selling on Etsy but it as, for your ssn, which I’m not really sure of doing so now I’m stuck 😭😭😭

  3. I’ve been making jewelry for nearly two years. I don’t have much following on social media and don’t know how to promote it. I’m getting buried in pendants specifically I sell a few items a year but I have been making a few a week. I’m lost I just want to sell some stuff.

  4. I came across this video in search of a new platform after being suspended off of Etsy.

I’ve used Etsy for about 3-4 years now, selling and buying. Halfway through my selling I had to abandon my first account in order to switch my banking information which I felt was weird that you cannot switch banks in Etsy. Needless to say, I was disappointed to leave behind my first ever small business accomplishment. Everything started out fine for my new shop until around December of 2024. Since Etsy charges 20 cents per listing to upload, which seems reasonable on a surface level, I uploaded around 11 listings which added up to around $1.80 for my all together Mind you I restarted my business with basically nothing, just barely $3 to make some bare listings. I kept checking my account to see when I’d get charged, but all throughout December I never got charged. I assumed things were moving slow because of the holidays, so I didn’t think much of it. Time goes by, I’m so swamped with schoolwork I completely forget about my charges, and during this time I only made two sells. Fast forward to now, I get an email stating on April 7th of 2025 my account was charged $1.80 when I only had $1.20 left over from helping my mother with groceries. Since Etsy decided to charge me on the one day I didn’t have enough money in my account to pay my fee, they permanently suspended my account, and I couldn’t file an appeal. It felt very odd and targeted, especially considering they didn’t charge me for the whole 5 months I had over the amount I owed but decided the one day I had below to charge me. Overall, my experience with billing in Etsy hasn’t been the most pleasant, uploading listings was relatively easy, but overall, I wouldn’t recommend if you’re searching for stability.

  5. I was thinking of selling on Etsy but the city I live in is tells me I must have a business license to sell online at the cost of $500.

  6. "I love how DitchIt App helps me let go of items without guilt. It’s made my decluttering experience much smoother, and I can finally see my house as the clean, organized space I’ve always wanted."

  7. Wowsers… I Sold on Etsy as well for a couple years, but have been off of Etsy for about five years and when I was on there, they had a few fees, but not all of the ones you just mentioned… That’s crazy

  8. I much prefer Square / BLOCK “ also because of their nice POS equipment – also Squarespace is good and easy for websites if you don’t need POS gear

  9. Very helpful I was thinking of that I don’t need spend a lot and I don’t a lot have customers, but every see my work he like it but I dont have a lot orders .so spend money on Ad is not worth it?I spend two time not works

  10. This was very helpful. I just started on Etsy, and I recently uploaded some of my handmade stuff on Tiktok, instagram, and ebay. So far no luck on sales

  11. I’d like to get into this. When you’re making something, how do you know it will sell and won’t just end up sitting around your house?

  12. We thought about a website to sell on and social media to direct them to the website and sell too. What do you think? Enjoyed your video!
